Marcus Bell

Marcus was a software engineer for a decade before moving into search, building trading systems in New York and then leading a platform team at a consumer technology business. That background is why senior engineers take the call: Marcus can talk about architecture, team design and incident culture without needing a translator.

Since joining Roster in 2015, Marcus has built the technology and data practice into one of the firm’s largest. Searches focus on chief technology officers, chief product officers, heads of engineering and data leaders for venture-backed scale-ups and payments firms. Marcus insists on a precise brief before a search starts, uses technical assessors from a trusted network and references every finalist on what they actually shipped.
